• Vintage Inspired Winter Tea Dress 2012-02-17

  Hello gorgeous JARLO Fans. I wanted to show you my 'go to' dress of the winter.

  Say hello to the lovely Lou.

  Lou is a 1950's inspired tea dress that is suitable for the winter due to its thick material and lining. 40s & 50s inspired floral prints never go out of style and is one of my all time favourite looks.

  I do love to try out new styles and look at current trends, but the femininity and glamour of times before will always be a consistent look for me.

  

  I always try and mix up vintage inspired garments with trendy accessories (to reduce the risk of looking fancy dress). Here for example I have teamed Lou up with some chunky ankle boots to give the outfit a bit of an edge.

  

   

  Also I have found a great technique in creating vintage waves and thought I would share with you. John Frida have created a series of tutorials. Obviously they are telling you to use their products, but I just used my normal hold moose and some heat protection spray.

• Hello lovely JARLO fans 2012-01-11

  Hello lovely JARLO fans, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I spent Christmas at home with my husband, daughter, Brother and sister in law, baby niece and Husbands friend. I received some lovely presents including MAC make-up, Perfume, Jessops vouchers (for a new camera) and clothes. JARLO sent me two stunning dresses a couple of weeks ago and I decided to wear one of them (Jessica dress I am wearing below) on Christmas day.
  
  I had every intention of posting up the photo's of the actual day, but bucks fizz from around 10am doesn't do you any justice in photographs so I decided to take them again.
  
  Jessica is one fine piece of dress I tell you. Beautiful quality and the detailing in on the front and the fastening at the back is just divine. It is actually part of the AW collection, but I can see myself wearing this without tights and as a day or evening dress in the summer.
  
  
  
  
  
  

• Pussy Bow Galore 2011-12-14

  

   

  If you are looking for a vintage inspired fashion fix then look no further than the pussy bow, it has been a staple feature from the 1930's all the way up until the present day. Reinventing itself to suit the fashion of the time.

   

  The 1930/40s pussy bow was very flamboyant and full of frills as shown above with the glamorous Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich. The 1950's styled it in a cutesy fashion as worn by Bridget Bardot. The 1960's saw life to the androgynous trend and the American girl-band 'The shangri-las' wore their pussy bows with a masculine twist. Lastly shown above is the lovely late Princess Diana in the 1980s taking a prim and proper approach.

   

  

  JARLO has an absolutely amazing range of pussy bow dresses and tops. My personal favourites have the be the polka dot 60's inspired Hayley dress and the Stella dress which I actually own and will be posting outfit photo's in due course. In fact looking at them all now they are all my favourites and would suit any occasion perfectly.

• Ridley Road Market Bar (Wu’s) is a Jarlo Favourite! 2011-12-06

  The Tropical Bar, Café & Event space, right in the heart of Dalston and the middle of Ridley Road Market.

   

  Serving Red Stripe, Borough Wines, Tropical Cocktails and Coffee till late & is the Home to Luca Italian meatballs and aperitivos which are not to be missed, honestly the Polenta and Meatballs!

   

  The lovely Kerry of RRMB was kind enough to let us use the Space for our SS12 Campaign. Take a sneek peak at shot below of gorgeous Claire Collins IMG Models in the Carrie dress which has been a hot seller and will be in store from Feb 2012.

   

  RRMB is a touch of Club Tropicana minus the pool and George Michael! The cocktails are delicious the Ginger Mojitos are a hit with the Jarlo Team, but all the others are just as amazing…. Tequila & Grapefruit, Gin &Pomegranate and Whiskey & Lemon.

   

  Perfect place to pop in for Coffee, a quiet drink or if you feel like it you can Dance the Night away! And not to forget Luca’s Meatballs if you need a yummy snack!

• JARLO & MEMOIR MODE COMPETITION 2011-11-18

  I am so excited to be writing my first post for Jarlo, I stumbled across his delicious brand earlier this year and instantly fell in Love.

  My first outfit includes the Patsy dress It is a gorgeous emerald green colour with a silky sheen. The shoulder pads and clinched in waist makes it feel quite 80s inspired and is something you can wear for a smart daytime look or sling off the tights, put on the killer heels and wear for a night out.   I have teamed up with the Ainsley floral blazer  It has a pretty little red and green floral pattern that I thought would look lovely with the emerald green dress.  To celebrate my collaboration with JARLO, we are launching a competition for the chance WIN a Sandra Cape and 2 items of your choice from the A/W collection.
